question: do you think I could upload something of a preview where I just use...like 20 seconds or 1 minute of almost each song, make a video to it, so that
poeple could hear part of it and then download it at iTunes?

Okay, so, 36 hours later (!), I've finally downloaded the zip file that Anton kindly sent me... (darn my frustratingly slow dial-up!)
I am now in the process of uploading 2 music videos with images from the film - one for Waltzing Matilda and one for By the Boab Tree... Can anyone who downloaded the soundtrack from iTunes let me know if the videos are there somewhere? Or will you now all be waiting for me to hurry up and get them up? LOL

I didn't think so... You guys are going to love them!
I am going to upload the vids as soon as I get home from work. They are massive files (high quality iTunes vids) so it will take my dial up quite a few hours to upload. Hopefully all goes well and they will be online late tonight. Of course, I'll pop in here and let you know when they are up!

I've bought the full soundtrack (as well as the EP to show support to the film). The booklet is absolutely gorgeous!
I've also downloaded the following tracks from the composer's website (Stampede, Nullah is safe, Nullah enchants Sarah, England to Oz, Bombing of Darwin). I would like to know if there is more music from the soundtrack that I'm missing or alternate versions (I think I'm missing some). So I was wondering if, in case you have some, you could make available for download what can't be legally purchased. I just love this film so much that I want all the music from it. |

Even if it's unlikely, I'm really hoping for a hard copy. I have trouble finding a way to convert the AAC tracks I bought into MP3 so that I can read
them with my MP3 player and not only my computer.

Sorry Pat - I am not good at embedding videos! I spent ages trying to embed the videos into my site last night - and it just didn't work!
So yeah, it's not you, it's the site - the vids aren't working properly. I am going to try and convert them into Flash Player videos tonight. Plus, I've asked Kate if she can pop them on You Tube for me. So hopefully we'll get them up at some stage this weekend!

By The Boab tree is now on Youtube, it's just a montage of the pics as featured in the 51 page booklet, plus a few scenes from the movie. One seemed new
even. (drover by the tree).
I cannot get waltzing matilda on to youtube because it keeps saying theres' a copyright violation  I'll keep working at it, however I believe this
waltzing matilda video is old, twas either on the official site or bigpond etc, wherever the waltzing matilda promo is that we saw before, seems the same.
PS Franzy, I misunderstood you. I think if you made a vid with only snippets of songs that should be fine! Maybe also link to the itunes soundtrack in the description?! they would likely appreciate that!

I'm so glad the soundtrack is finally out. The selection of tracks is excellent, and the little changes and additions made to the tracks only enhance the
experience. 'The Rush' with added electric guitar sounds breathtakingly fantastic!

Odd it works fine for me.
I've got a faster connection so have uploaded them for bazthegreatsite.com ..... Here's the link to youtube for By The Boab Tree vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dywbmlJwmPI And here's the link to megavideo for Waltzing Matilda: http://www.megavideo.com/?v=06Z13ZI7 PS with megavideo the annoying thing is the first time you click play you will get a pop up advertisement, the second time you click play the vid should appear. Also Van did you reduce the size of the videos before uploading them to BTG?? If not they wont appear for most people as streaming videos of that size in MB will take a long time to load, so it will appear not to work. Also just a note to beware that twill use a lot of bandwidth. Very pleased to see that most people here have purchased the soundtrack

'The Rush' is definitely my number one. One of the best pieces of music I've ever heard in my life. The vocal would have to be 'By The Boab
Tree'. Such a beautiful song.

By The Boab Tree is my absolute favourite. I love the vocals and I love the melody. It is a hauntingly beautiful tune that can be heard throughout the movie...
I also love Faraway Downs and First Kiss
Kate - Thanks for pointing that out about the bandwith issue with the vids! I have no idea how to reduce the video size, so yes, I uploaded the mega files, and now they're using mega bandwith (and not even working!) Ooops! I shall have to remove the vids when I get home this weekend. I will rely on your You Tube and Megaupload links instead

I so thrilled with the soundtrack and the digital booklet! I can't believe we actually got a soundtrack
 I'd had given up hope!
My favorite tracks are: "No Man Hires Me, No Man Fires Me" - Waited forever for the Drover intro music! It makes me heart race every time I hear it! "Across the Room/Begin the Beguine" - Love the new version that sounds like it was recorded live! Add in the 'across the room' music and...wow! I just can't stop listening. With a special nod to Baz for the remixed version of "You Ride Your Way and I'll Ride Mine" with the great back ground singers
Thanks so much Baz! 
Now, get to work on the extended director's cut DVD please! I want it for Christmas
