LMAO, I've been meaning to ask you, Katie, have you heard of RENT Remixed? Or Remix?
It's a "rebooted" version of RENT they're doing in London's West End since, I guess, RENT never took off there.

When I first heard of it, I thought it might work. But now that I've heard YouTubes.... there should be some international artistic tribunal who can try and fry these guys.

Also, "Take Me or Leave Me" is the same song, minus the piano, plus these random bursts of disco-ness.
That and "Out Tonight" was stripped of everything that made it wonderful, and it's sung like a jazz club number. Completely slowed down. "Lets. Go. Out. Tonight. "By a tall, blond, older white woman.
I've seen a blond Maureen when the tour was here.... and she rocked. But this woman is older, blond, boring, and like.... NOT MAUREEN.

T did not likea teh Lou Diamond Phillips. I did?!?!? But I had never seen Camelot in any incarnation before. I really enjoyed it. Except for the boring parts, near the beginning. Like, I had no idea what happens to Merlin. Some woman comes and is all singing, and then he leaves with her for the whole play.
T says he never got that, either. He loves Camelot, though. I didn't love it till the last half. I thought Lancelot was lame until the heat turned up with Guenivere or however you spell her name. Their parts were awesome.
Also, the song "Guenivere" and the whole scene that ensues toward the end is F'ING AWESOME.
Read in the program that Lou did the King in "King & I" before. He would have totally rocked that, even more than Arthur.
Also, Kate, your suspicions are justified. I mean, I don't have to go any further than the bright purple sparkly tights he wears in the beginning... either that, or he's EXTREMELY comfortable with his sexuality.
(even I am not that comfortable.)

LMAO, this weekend, a high school production of "Children of Eden" (Stephen Schwartz) and a college of Antigone. Yay.

LOL, Lou is la married, though? His wife and him had, like, a two week or something crazy old baby when they were here. I didn't get to meet/spend time with, but a friend of mine, did.
Finally, I put some of the NY pics on my computer, and you shall finally see the gorgeous, grand theater in which Forbidden Broadway is located.


LMAO, those were our seats. The one guy literally KEPT SPITTING ON ME, as he sang, but I was all LOL I don't care cause this is so awesome. The four of them were AWESOME, and the new stuff was like, teh hotness. Some of the Spring Awakening stuff, like a part where this woman (who was awesome and had these spacey eyes) had to do a spoof of a part from it where these two teenagers are "teaching" each other about sex, and he's spanking her, and she's all "Give me more!" and only then could not keep a straight face. I died.
There's also a new song with the Flying Monkeys from Wicked trolling Central Park for gay sex, a lovely Little Mermaid number "(Broadway's Now) Part Disneyworld."
And OMG, I think it's an older song, but they did this Sarah Brightman (original Christine in Phantom) of that opera song "Time To Say Goodbye." I don't know if it was because we saw her in the parade or what, but the spacey woman did this impression (complete with bucktooth) of her opera shrill, and every time it came to this one point in the song, the theater, like, collectively died. I know I did.
I won't say anything else, though, cause if/when they do a CD I don't want to spoil all the punchlines. Some classic ones they did though was the song with Ethel Merman teaching Michael Crawford to belt, the Wicked "Defying Subtlety," with the Cheno parts taken out (OMG, her costume was priceless... it was like random pieces of green fabric she just put over her head and the witch outfit, and then when she flies they put a crate under her and the monkies shake her dress), and the Annie where she's smoking and "30 years old... tomorrow..."
WE LOVED IT.
But, like, there's hardly even a lobby. And they share the theater with another show. And the intermission was 5 minutes but because it was so cramped no one went anywhere, LOL.
And then, at the end, we didn't wait around that long, but T had to used the men's room, and it was in the basement, and I did not, so while I waited in the "lobby" they basically told me they were closing up and to get out LMAO.
Met and talked briefly with the one guy who does it... t'was awesomeness night.

Last night we saw the tour of White Christmas. Talent, fun, some mild amusement. The average age of the person there was, like 70 to death.
SOME PARTS WERE BORING AS HELL.
Though, afterwards, most of the cast did a sort of cabaret show at a bar across the street (called Cabaret, how appropo), as a fund-raiser for Broadway Cares: Equity Fights AIDS, and they were AWESOME, both singing and to like have a drink with.
Like, one of the guys got up and did Big Gay's Al's song from the South Park Movie. That, "I'm THUPER, THANKS FOR ATHKING..." and I laughed myself off a barstool. And then these two girls from the cast brought these little guitars up and were all, "In the spirit of the season..." and they preceded a medley that began with "If you want my body/ and you think I'm sexy...." Oh, and some of the girls did a scene from "Mean Girls?" It was, like, gay-tastic.

ALSO.
THE OTHER DAY I FINALLY OBTAINED MOST OF MY WICKED TICKETS. FOR JUNE. AND JULY. THEY ARE OVER THE MANTEL AND THE FIRST (ER, THIRD CAUSE OF T AND FIYERO, OF COURSE) THING I WOULD SAVE IN A FIRE.
