Yes, Australia is so NOT into Halloween. Not so much Halloween, cos there are a few parties and stuff, but the actual trick-or-treating. People just get sneered at or ripped off around here where i live cos its so 'american' (not dissing americans!) but yeah. Most people generally ignore their doors, or this one year when me and my brother were particularly irked by the 3 or so people going around, we decided we'd play along, but more with the 'tricks' aspect, which assuredly would keep them away! We have a balcony over our front door, so basically we got crafty with some buckets of water and a few super soakers! Our neighbours, my friends, got into it a bit too, LOL. Actually, I haven't seen anyone do it for a few years, those people must have got over it. Sorry for being so anti halloween!

Well, unlike Megs, as you may have gathered from Friday the 13th, I am not anti Halloween. However I do prefer to celebrate it in a different way. Light a few candles, do a few spooky things and then after that, the B GRADE HORROR MOVIES!

Halloween Costumes

Everyone's favorite holiday is coming up!!! HALLOWEEN!!!!! YYYYYAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! A night of toilet papering, egging houses-er, I mean, of innocent trick-or-treating.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for costumes? Some of my ideas are:

A can-can dancer (will be hell finding the material, though)

A Pirate (course all the Johnny/Orli fans will probably dress as one too)

A Down-With-Love-Girl (complete with 60s gear and always armed with a chocolate bar!)

Well seeing how I don't go trick-or-treating anymore, I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna be. It doesn't really matter if there's no Halloween party to go to, but if there is, I was thinking of maybe going as Harriet Potter... kinda like the female version of Harry. Heh... I always do funny costumes like that. A few years ago I went as Austina Powers. I'll see if I can dig up some pics. I scared the shi-ot out of my little cousin that year!

Hehe, I'm going in as a Baddie Jedi dressed in a goodie Jedi uniform...at least...a makeshift one anyway **is cluttered in the huge brown table cloth that will be used as the cloak and wondering where the needle went and is wondering what the small sharp pain is in her tail** Erf...**scratches tail** Oh, wondering why it's a tail? I'm a therian, so I'm a wolf, sometimes weasel sometimes even a badger! hahaha.

Oooh, I was gonna be a Jedi but then I couldn't be bothered to make the brown robe-y thing so I'm being a Rocky-Horror-meets-Velvet-Goldmine extra! Hrm, I better wear thermal underwear or else I'll freeze, it being the end of October and all... ah well.

I love Halloween, you get to dress up stupidly *ignores fact that is wearing normal clothes* and get given sweets!!!

I love Halloween! The only bad thing about Halloween being on a Friday this year is that a bunch of my friends are in band at their schools and some idiot decided to have football on halloween so i'm not sure what my plans are yet. I wanna go see RHPS but I'm not sure if the parents will be up for that, and they won't be home anyways. I'll probaly wear my can can outfit that i wore last year. Mehehe dressing up is so much fun!

I'm debating whether or not to be Obi, a Pirate, or Christian(yeah, I'm a cross-dresser, fear me) :lol

But anyway, since I got my lightsaber, I've had my heart set on Obi-Wan. Then when I saw, PotC, I was like "Dude, I so need to be a Pirate!" But then a few days ago, I was on E-Bay looking up MR stuff and I had the urge to be Chris, so really, I dunno :hrm

If my friends have a Halloween party again, I think I'm going to borrow the mad scientist jacket someone wore last year, pair it with a white cami and some white boy bottoms and go as JANET! Whoo! I know that's a little more modest than her real costume, but I have to keep in mind what Mom will let me out of the house in. :lol

Ooooh, I love Halloween...... I'm so happy it's on a Friday this year... no school next day.... horror movie marathon!!! I don't really get dressed up though; the last two years I wore a Michael Myers and Freddy Kruger mask (had the glove and hat with Freddy, too) when I answered the door for the kids... these last bunch of years (haven't gone out for like 4 of them) I'm the only one home Halloween... don't know why.... anyhoo, this year, if I bother or attend any parties, it'll probably be my Freddy Krueger outfit, just cause I have it.

I swear october is like miss every movie I want to see month...lol the original mummy was on recently, missed that, something else, I forget what so obviously it wasn't that important (lol), and I missed it! ah!
lol jayme I so know the feeling! it happened to me last year and a few years before that! lol now I have planet schmanet janet stuck in my head...doo doo doo doo doo doo...
anyway, on the lighter side of one of my fav months (december, my b-day month being my fav of course lol), I think I"ll go as Velma Kelly from Chicago. lol it's fun and easy! although, all my friends really want me to go as a news anchor...lol hey, that actually does work really well now that I think about it! hmmm...things that make you go "hmmm..." lol well I guess I should probably decide soon! *sigh* Halloween rocks! now I'll go see what movie I'm missing...;)

I gave in, and I'm going as a pirate....sorta.

My mom and I went costume shopping, but the place we went to either didn't have stuff I liked and/or fit me. So my mom says "Hey! Let's go to Ross and find stuff to make a costume for you!" I just thought, whatever, so I went a long with it.

We ended up finding ths black and white stripped off the sholder shirt and a (really cool actually!) black and white stripped skirt, and some black boots. All resonably prised, of course.

So now I'm trying to find some black fish nets, and a red sash for around my waist and one for my hair!

Ooh, you all have such great ideas! I don't think my mom is cool with my Janet costume idea, so I've narrowed it down to either a nerd (wearing my "Be a math action hero" shirt with capri pants and big socks) or Margie Flynn from The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys (plaid skirt, white top, ankle socks, maybe a necktie, and a folded up poem in my shoe and drawn-on scars on my wrists).

You are all so lucky getting to do Halloween properly! Over here no-one does it really, and if people do have parties the only things you can dress up as are scary things, like ghosts and witches and devils. Me and my friend had one last year but I don't think we're doing anything this year. England is so boring!

I agree Laura, England is so boring, we never do anything. Us Brits are so boring and like don't do anything. Its like the whole David Blaine thing, no-one over here seems to be keen on him, he came out the other day from his box and everyone was like "No no put him back in", they a vote thing going on over here on the radio deciding if he should be kept in the box, two people said no and the other 555 said yes keep hm in there, i know this was kinda going off the subject but i just think us Brits are so boring and unwelcoming to everything.

Hmmm, I was going as the Bad Jedi in good clothes, but I changed my mind. Yes, I'm not gunna be some Star Wars chappess, no, I'm going for something FAR MORE IMPORTANT! Halloween is the holiest day to the church. No, I'm not talking about the Christian Church, no, I'm talking about the Ressurected Church of Havok! In celebration of the opening of the Ressurected Church of Havok, I'm shooting to be Davey Havok, the mortal god! (Davey Havok es el Dios mortal!) Now Davey is a man who looks more sexy in eyeliner than Ewan, and he is a man, a mortal GOD who has lyrics that have saved my sister and many people from the brink of suicide. Blessed be Havok. ^___^ yes, and on November 20th, another holy of holy days, is Davey Havok's birthday, so in celebration of the Birthday of the Mortal God, all users of Bohowave will have access to all the rooms, oh yes, it's just for a day...hopefully by then, I'll have the new map up, hopefully I'll get the new map soon! Thank Beau for helping me in the Art Department!

OMB! Emily last year you went as LLB! what did you wear? A kilt like he sometimes does? Leather trousers? a big flowy shirt? Ha ha ha that is an awesome idea! No one would know that here in the states we have that Trading Spaces crap that is no where neer as cool as Changing Rooms....

Anyway, enough replying to posts weeks after thay were posted and on to my costume... I went to King Richard's Faire earlier in the month so I made myself a pretty good gypsy costume but after looking at that MR costume ideas thread w/ all the pics of Satine's costumes I really want to do Pink Diamonds! I mean it seems simple enough a pink corset with a few heart shaped diamond encrusted things and some feather boa's hanging off the back... easy as pie. A little cold though....
