You've never seen "Boys Don't Cry," Katie?!?!?!?!?
And, if EVER you want start watching "Six Feet Under," watch from the beginning, UNEDITED. Borrow my DVDs. SFU changed my life, and is, combined, better than any film, book, or TV show... or story in any form... I've ever experienced in my life. Perhaps those are dangerous standards to live up to, but 'tis what they are for me. Also, don't watch that "Brothers & Sisters" program with that vile Flockhart woman. T LOVES that show, and it takes something that's almost SFU's basic premise, and precedes to take a dump on it. However Rachel Griffiths is also in it, and since she is a goddess I pray to each night, I watch. Doesn't live up to her talents, though. Also, we had Aimee and Jaguar or whatev from the library for like 4 weeks. And never got around to watching it. Cause the other day we watched "Happily N'Ever After" CUTE!!! WATCH! And then also Scary Movie 4. Which I enjoyed cause there was just something needed to be expressed in my funny bone that yearned to see Carmen Electra, in Bryce Dallas Howard's "The Village" character, walk into a silent town hall meeting, and disrobe and take a mistake a bench for a toilet, and then after a good minute of bodily noises ask, "I'm not alone, am I?" SO BAD. Also, *spoilers* It's not a good movie by any means, but when Cindy and Brenda grab the villagers and take them into bushes to steal their clothes so they can blend in, and they (Cindy and Brenda) get beat up instead and the villagers come out of the bushes... I've never seen that happen in a movie. Why didn't anyone think of it till then? I laughed my ass off. -Bryan

I know there are so many movies that I need to see, but have not. Generally I watch the same movies over and over
As for Brothers and Sisters I've seen a lil of that, but probably as much as I've seen of Six Feet Under. I like Rachel too. Tis weird hearing her with an american accent though. And lmao, sounds like scary toilet humour to me... ![]() Suckerlove ~ RougeVelvet Videos ~ Moulin Goldmine ~ LJ ~ Spectacular MB LastFM ~ JRMfansite MB ~ Velvet Goldmine LJ ~ Mystic Bliss the.call.to.arms.was.never.true i'm.medicated, how.are.you? |

Wait, Katie, do you like Ally McBeal? Why do I think that? If so, I'm sorry for calling her a vile Flockhart woman. I just dislike that show! Although, someone (prob a writer) LOVES Wicked. The family went to a benefit with a Broadway theme, they sat at the WICKED theme table. Sally Field needed to get away for an afternoon to come back to a surprise party, and where did Ally McBeal take her? WICKED! Who did the gay brother once date? A flying monkey from WICKED! Where did the gay brother take his other brother before he went back to Iraq cause all the siblings wanted to do something individual and special with him? WICKED! Though he said he saw it 6 times???
And what have you seen of Six Feet Under??? Also, NEVER watch "Hard Candy" with Patrick Wilson. He's gorgeous, but needs to make better film choices. (Not a GLBT movie, though.) -Bryan

Nah, I used to watch it when I was about 16 (gah so long ago?!
Speaking of Calista though, have you seen the version with her and Kevin Klein, Christian Bale, Michelle Pfeifer and Stanley Tucci etc of A Mid Summer Night's Dream? I must watch that again!! Though I probably loved it more at the time because I was reading lots of shakespeare and did the AMSND play myself. Of course I was bottom. Quote: *Must resist the urge at tasteless jokes-- I MUST!* Okay, there, all better. Anyhoo. In my... um.... I think it was... not Lit Criticism, not Theory... some, oh, "Literary Interpretation" class last year, we read AMSND, and watched some clips from that film version, and I LOVED what I saw. So much so that I added the whole thing to my must-watch list. Which is very long. Needless to say I have yet to get to it. I watched Ally McAnorexia once, and a dancing computer generated baby terrified me. When was that on? If you were 16.... I was... what? Still watching "Are You Afraid of the Dark" on Nickelodeon? I think most of those are a lil out of my age bracket in terms of what was around when I was in the target audience.
Where was that cool cartoon thread we used to have...?? Anyway, I was watching SpongeBob, My Gym Partner is a Monkey (???or something wtf? lol) and oh a bit with this blue imaginary friend thing. I come from the era of Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Earthworm Jim, Freakazoid, Anamaniacs Then the early years were The Smurfs, The Carebears, Looney Toons, The Snorks, Jetsons oh hell, pretty much anything! It shat me when cartoons got to that stage where you couldn't turn on tv and be mindlessly entertained, it was all manga influenced and stuff with OMG we must get princess liza's gold from the valtar's seekret castle!1!1 ..or something ![]()

Did you ever watch that crazy Eureka's Castle show? LMAO! Or Dionsaurs! "Not the mama!" Oh, and TO THIS DAY, I think the Animaniacs-- "We're zainy to the max, there's balogna in our slacks!!!" And Pinky and the Brain!?!?!?!?! OMFG. I just found this on YouTube, and am so glad I did. I SWEAR! In grammar school it helped me pass History. And looking back at it now.... it's nothing short of brilliance. Truly. The second one had me in TEARS. It's short, Katie, if you can load it.

Oh I love that about some cartoons. They actually do teach you a lot!! Even stuff like The Simpsons, I remember it helped me answer my teacher's question
when I was in year 7, lol!
Maybe some of the stuff you're talking about I haven't seen because it was more american and less popular so didn't make it here?? But yes, Pinky and The Brain! and Dinosaurs, lol *waiting for the 2nd vid to load* Oh oh, have I told you my latest shameful passion?! OMG SO GOOD SO BAD! Have you seen Dante's Cove... surely I have babbled to you about this alreadY? I cant recall but here goes anyway. It's like a cross of Queer as Folk, Melrose Place and Charmed. So tacky, so hot, and in the first 3 ep season they walked around continuously moist and glistening. P and I were LMAO. Okay ten years later. LOL, yes the translation is great! And of course you have to like it, 'cause there's Cher and that's like all part of 'the code' I like cartoons that are funny for adults too. Stuff
that would be lost on kids can be in there and funny to them for one reason and funny to adults for the higher meaning / reference.

Bryyyyaaan, why must you be off having a life. Okay, I know you said you'd be back at the end of the week...but really! lol Sooo, I finally watched Breakfast On Pluto. After our latest film rental, "Cowboy Junction," I turned to T and said, "You know, sometimes I think that the damage our people have
cinematically committed against the world can never be forgiven."
And he agreed. OMG, this movie was HYSTERICAL. It starts off at this like place in nowhere land south like in mountains, where there's a fight club kind of place where ugly guys go to pick up hot cowboy hustlers. This one, not particularly attractive guy picks up this decently hot guy, who T liked, and I would do him if I had to but not much else. They have weird clothed car sex where it looks like somehow they both orgasm by dry humping. And then, directly after that, he's taking this guy home to be the "handyman" around their house. Which is like a small urban ranch with a small front and back yard. This is how he introduces him to his wife. IT WAS HILARIOUS. IT ENDS LIKE A SHAKESPEAREAN TRAGEDY. Turns out the writer/director/producer was not so attractive guy who probably only did this movie to have bad soft core porn scenes with this hot guy. And then, we watched "Boy Culture," which fucked up the only things I liked about the book (I HATED THE BOOK), and actually improved on everything I hated, and made it a decent movie. T slept through this. AND THE MAIN CHARACTER WAS SOOOOO HOT. I, like, still need to have sex with him.

lol, oooh that kind of movie sex!!!
WTF is with some of this stuff? I know they don't want it to be X or R rated, but you'd think they'd never had or seen sex before, the way it is directed etc. You're watching and t's like, um, they got off from THAT?! But again, I'm so glad you're not a movie critic for a newspaper because even though you can a movie you make me want to see it just so I can PMSL! And ooh, ooh, I have just recently heard of boy culture. Another on my list. My list is scarily large now. LMAO YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE IT. In Blockbuster, I told T, "DO NOT LET SKIN SELL YOU ON A MOVIE. Cause, remember, that's what caused the Cowboy Junction
tragedy." He did not heed my words. Some back story. The other central "plot" to Cowboy Junction was that the husband/lover had a hit and run in
his past where he-- SURPRISE, SURPRISE (this happens in the first 3 minutes of the movie or something) accidentally killed his now lover's at the time
boyfriend. This surprisingly creates some tension in their relationship. We rent this PIECE OF CRAP called "Longing." It's about 3 Swedish guys
who move to Brazil for some never diagnosed reason. They make their living having goofy "threesomes" on a web cam they make people pay for. And all
they do is dance around with each other and take their shirts off. They don't show anything else, because they're afraid they'd make too much money
or some crap. One of the (not so attractive) guys goes to a club one night, and takes this native guy "home" / to a beach to have sex. They start
having rough sex, and then the native guy tries to rape him, and he struggles-- a knife is pulled, and the guy makes the native rapist guy fall on it. He
throws him into the ocean. Has some issues the following day. Then everything is fine when he meets this wonderful other native guy. They "fall in
love" over the course of a day, and then guess what? New native guy's brother is founded stabbed, washed up on shore! Tension! It was hysterical.
Words cannot express how bad, also, the acting was. And LMAO yes at some movie sex. It's like, I've never partaken in any sexual activity with a
female, but I'm guessing it's not common to always leave just a bra on? Seriously, a jackass (meaning an actual donkey) could better choreograph most
movie sex scenes... and it can even be done without any shown nudity. The other one we started watching the other night, though, had a very realistic and well
done one... we clapped after, LMAO.

If ever you find yourself loosing faith in gay cinema, watch "An Angel Named Billy" and "And, There You Were," and you will completely
loose all faith in my people's ability to screen write, act, and produce.
The former is a positively menacing, syrupy filled pile of dung which revolves around Billy, a boy who just turned 18 (how convinent!). He lives out in the country, next to the people from the movie "Deliverance." His father, hysterically acted by an older guy with a huge bald spot and long black hair, catches him and a friend (male) kissing. In one of the most cliched scenes you will ever be subjected to, he is kicked out of the house because he's a sodomite blah blah blah. Cut to James and his stroke victim father. James' father is friends with some old drag queen, in a perfectly dreadful performance/role that serves no purpose and never goes anywhere. James' father has DUM DUM DUM another stroke, in an insanely you have to see it melodramatic scene. Yada yada, I yell at T for picking out this movie, he falls asleep, Billy finds a job notice in this rinky dink cafe posted by James looking for live in help for his father. Billy goes over for an interview, has no credentials and tells James he is homeless. He is subsequently hired as live in help. Immediately, James and his father keep saying how much of an angel Billy is, because he is a transient who never finished high school who is living under their roof and being fed by them. Occasionally, he tips James' father in his wheel chair, and he seems to love these "wheelies." Blah blah, James mother comes out of nowhere in the WORST PIECE OF ACTING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE YOU MUST SEE IT BEOFRE YOU DIE.... and James and Billy fall in love and have dry humping. SEE THIS MOVIE NOW. It half makes you wish you were ever born, half hysterical. TRAILER WHICH DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4ZlkXtOHmk

Hadn't heard about this before, but just read a review and thought twould put it here so I could take a looksee later if I wish:
Chris & Don: A Love Story Love comes in many forms, but a lifelong love like this is rare for a number of reasons. It does no good to talk about Chris & Don: A Love Story
without acknowledging that when their relationship began, English writer Christopher Isherwood was in his late forties and Don Bachardy was 18. Or so. Once you get over whatever feelings
that causes, this new documentary unfolds fairly amiably. Isherwood's writing made him a sort of celebrity in the Golden Age of Hollywood, which was also
the Dark Ages of Hollywood Homosexuality. Very few important members of the entertainment industry were out of the closet then, and to prove he was, Isherwood
would spend the next 40 years or so with a lover more than young enough to be his son. In a lot of ways, the elder Isherwood played father to Bachardy,
encouraging his painting and artistic endeavors, which would become Don's livelihood. Chris & Don plays like a
fond memorial service, and perhaps that's the target for directors Guido Santi and Tina Mascara. The relationship had its ups and downs, and Isherwood at one point allowed Bachardy to
stray, although the connection to his much older lover proved too strong, especially when Isherwood developed cancer.
