Hi! I'm British but with an interest in Australia. I've had australian friends, watched australian tv series and films and some years ago, I spent 6 weeks travelling in Australian, including the Queensland coast and Perth up to Carnarvon. One of my ambitions has been to return and travel overland from Broome to Darwin.

I'm also a fan of Hugh Jackman and have been for almost five years. He's probably the only actor who's interested me enough to follow his career closely. I think he's an excellent and versatile actor who's always interesting to watch but he's often been let down by poor material and direction. Like many fans, I'm always on the lookout for good projects for him and so when Baz Luhrmann announced his plans two years ago, I thought this could be it. I'd seen and enjoyed "Strictly Ballroom" years ago and I'd also liked "Moulin Rouge!" and who could resist a sweeping australian epic?

A month later, I wasn't so happy when Russell Crowe was named as he's not an actor who appeals to me. However, I still kept a casual eye on the project, partly to see which actors would be cast in supporting roles and when things looked like they were falling apart last year, I crossed my fingers and hoped that of the rumoured problems, it was Crowe rather than the budget that was the real issue.

For me, it's all working out well. I like David Wenham and Bryan Brown and I'm ok with Nicole. The only thing I don't like is the wait!
