Bonjour, im Satine, but nowadays better known as the sparkling diamond.
I dont know much about my parents, but my mom was a courtesan and dancer - like i am now - and my dad is unknown. My mother got told to get rid of me, but she still tried to raise me, but she was also very sick and had to do her job. I often was alone as a little child, but i always had to dream to be an actress someday. Anyway when i was around 10 my mothers got worse, she finally died and i was alone, i had nowhere to go.
Harold, the man my mother had worked for, helped me. I was pretty tho and was a quiet good singer and dancer, so he just raised me to a beautiful young woman. He was like a father for me. When i truned 15 he opened the Moulin Rouge, it was a night club kinda. With lot of other courtesans and many dancers. He arranged it that his best dancers taught me all they knew and the lovely courtesans showed me the way to seduce men. I learned quickly and became one of his Can-Can girls and a courtesan, coz i never knew another life i didnt think that that was some kinda unusual for a girl with only 15 years.
At first i was one of the twenty can-cangirls, but i wanted be become more then only a face in the crowed. So one day i finally got the guts to ask Harold to let me perform a number on my own and i convinced him that it would be the best for me. So he allowed it and shortly after that talk i started to rehears and gave my debut on my 16th birthday. I quickly became the star of the Moulin Rouge and known as the Sparkling Diamond.
Then i met Christian, a peniless writer, but at that time i though he would be a duke, anyway i fall for him. But the duke got very jeaulous and i had to
make Christian believe i dont love him, which wasnt true at all. Anyway the duke paid the rebuilding of the Moulin Rouge into a theater and on opening night
Christian came on stage when i was performing and threw money at my face saying:"This woman is yours. I paid my whore." Then he said to me:" I
owe you nothing! And you are nothing to me!" Which hurted me very deeply inside. And the duke had paid a man to kill Christian while he was on stage with
me. Anyway Christian walked away and i though i had lost him forever but then i just let my heart speak and sang the song Christian wrote for us.
For a moment I had no clue if he even listened, but then I sand: "I love you until my dying day" and it was like i really felt. Then he turned and
sang his part and made me the happiest person on earth!
I had consumption for a month now, but was able to hide it from Christian. However i performed till the end of the show and then he kissed me and i broke down
in his arms. It hurted me much more to see Christian in such great fear about me then my body hurted. I though i was going to die and i almost did, i though
that was the last time i would ever see Christian, but thank god i was wrong.
About a month later i woke up in a dirty hospital bed, but i was alive, but i was alone. They gave up on me, Harold did, Christian did and the damn Duke never even visited me. I still dreamed of being an actress and i train hard and no matter what i will be an actress one day and i will find Christian.
