Local Australian films will be immortalized on postage stamps for the first time in November to mark the Australian
Film Institute Awards' 50th anniversary.
The public (worldwide) can vote for their five favorite films, which will appear on commemorative stamps available via Australia Post in
November.
The pic with the most votes will be announced as the greatest Australian film of all time at December's AFI Awards, to be broadcast on the Nine Network.

I already voted in this - and today I voted again!
How absolutely cool would it be to get MR (and SB) on stamps! I'd definitely be buying the collectors set (probably a few!) Can't wait for the AFI Awards!

But MR got Oscars! Surely that qualifies it as one of the greatest Oz movies of all time?!
But yeah, who knows what will happen with the voting... I reckon Priscilla and probably Muriel's will be up there, but surely MR can make it - pleeeeease! *fingers crossed* |

I think though I pimped it alot of ppl overseas aren't bothering to vote because it doesnt affect them

Aww van, I went to vote again too but i dont think your second vote counts because it says Voting closed August 8.
I think I voted two or three times under my families names and email addressess when I first did it though lol

Bah is my word exactly, ... such a shame. Would have been a great collectors piece.
Actually, Australia Post would have been a great partner for Australia: them movie. Stamps, post packs and all sorts. Plenty of great tag lines to be had

Yaaay! Moulin Rouge finally made it onto a postage stamp! (well, kind of, lol!)
I LOVE that pic of Nic as Satine. Beautiful. And her other pic is stunning too... but you know I love the MR one the best
