And my report of the show/experience...................

My brother and I got to the theater 45 minutes before the show started and the line for the thing was massive, went all the way to the end of the street as people were shocked at how crowded it was. 7:30 they opened the doors and started getting us in, the couple before us were really unfortunate. They presented their tickets and the lady said "sorry guys but you don't have tickets to today's show, you bought tickets for the Friday show" and they had to leave, that must have totally sucked.

I sat 2 seats in from the aisle in row B, so 2 rows in from the front. Nervous out of my mind since this was my first Hugh live experience, when the curtain went up my heart was beating ridiculous. Hugh and Daniel got a really big applause and a few cheers before starting, right when the lights went up and then Hugh started and the show was really great. The beginning is quite funny as most have said and the acting was pretty amazing all the way through from both Hugh and Daniel. In the back of my mind, I had what others said about the first performance running the whole time. But what I noticed was that Hugh's accent was actually not bad at all, and he ripped into his role, brought the character to complete life while connecting with the audience quite well. But I see that since then people have seen an improvement so by the time I saw him, he was in tip top form. He KILLLEEEEEED the emotional parts, and the audience was totally into it. They were awing and gasping every time something was revealed, the story built it's intensity all the way through and climaxed very well. It was well formed and really enjoyable.

Daniel's character is the less meaty role and when Hugh is killing it emotionally, you kinda feel it. Daniel did a great job and both of them got a pretty big ovation at the end of it. There were 3 or 4 curtain calls, at the 3rd one they had already went back stage and were signaled to come out and give one last bow. So yea, great first experience for me. Then after I asked my brother what he thought and he said in all honesty "Hugh Jackman was definitely better in the show" which really surprised me since he likes to put him down more of the time just because he knows how I like him.

So we were about to leave and getting out, the stage door crowd was absolutely huge, but my brother insisted we stay and I at least try to get something. I was so far back from the front and thought I'd just take some pictures. So I stood on the very left side of the barricade where there was supposed to be an open path for the people exiting. Little did I know that once everyone exited, they extend the barricade and I ran as fast as I could to the front, where I got totally yelled at by the stage door guy who shouted non stop "MISS, SLOW DOWN, SLOW DOWN!!!!" I was in the front and about 5 minutes later Hugh came out and I was thinking of all the things I needed to say, but once he got to me, I tried to talk and nothing came out, lol. I was totally mumbling non sense when he was at me but I had my playbill out with one hand and camera in the other taking a video. Thinking back I totally missed my opportunity to get a picture or hug him or whatever, everyone else did but me, I was just standing there in total shock, lol. He got a huge reception when he got out, and he was there for 4-5 minutes. Then Daniel came out to a very muted applause and signed autographs for at most 2 minutes. I got both their autographs after all was said and done, looking back I wish I actually said something but eh, why dwell, lol.
