Posts: 2712 07/03/09 19:00 fair dinkum	US DVD Sales: $27,815,930 That represents 1,679,000 units (excluding Blu-ray and other HD discs), according to the link. I also remember that it did very well in rentals - that it was # 1 for the week of release and did very well in the weeks thereafter. I wonder if the movie would have done closer to $ 100 mil if the delayed interest in the movie ( via the DVD and rental sales) had materialized when it was still in the cinemas? I wonder how much it did outside of the USA in terms of DVD sales and rentals ?

Posts: 2713 07/06/09 01:48 fair dinkum	A poster from Melbourne on a Hugh board shared this TV spot that she saw -- There was a good story on a news program here tonight. It featured Baz Luhrmann enthusiastically extolling the virtues of Blu-Ray. The majority of the story centred around footage of the Australia movie blu-ray and the reporter voiceover said "Nicole and Hugh have never looked so good". Cut to Baz's quote which made me smile: "When God invented blu-ray I think he had them in mind". He says he is working on the Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet blu-rays at the moment. Baz seems extremely passionate about the format. So, there you are - no more excuses not to get a Blu-ray player

PLEASE let Baz bring out that much-anticipated special edition of Australia at the end of the year, for I will finally have the capacity to actually watch it in Blu Ray! Baz the Great!

I should get this too, would be my 3rd australia dvd then xD I just hate it that it has to be Blur-ray and if we get a special edition that that may be blue-ray also. I don't wanna get a blue-ray player because the world thinks they need better quality. DVD is fucking great quality!!

The compiled a list of the Top 100 greatest films to buy on blu-ray, and AUSTRALIA CAME IN AT NUMBER 11! Very impressive!
