My favorite tracks are:
-"No Man Hires Me, No Man Fires Me": this does things to me. 
-"Across the Room, Begin the Beguine": it just makes me wanna be on the dancefloor with them. -"By the Boab Tree": just so beautiful. -"The Drover's Ballad": I quite like this one for giving us backstory on Drover. |

I know I've mentioned it before, but the 51 page booklet that comes with the soundtrack is FABULOUS!
Baz's comments give great insight into the songs and the images are sooo beautiful. It is definitely worth buying the album to get this fabulous booklet for free!

 I reaaaallllyyy want one. I would love to see the different endings...
The booklet is great, but I would've loved an explanation about "By the boab tree". I just liked that song and even though you acually can tell yourself why, I would've loved to hear it from Baz  But....no complains!! Love it

- I Will Come For You (hearing that music makes me so emotional as I loved the relationship between Sarah & Nullah) - Across The Room/Begin The Beguine (love it!) - Faraway Downs (really enjoy the dramatic-ness of this piece) - Nimrod (stunning, epic) - By The Boab Tree

I was listening to one of my mum's Olivia Newton-John CDs, and on the album '(2)', there's a duet with Keith Urban titled 'Sunburnt
Country' - I thought it completely suited 'Australia' - I reckon it would make a great AMV if anyone was up for the challenge!

So... who here loved By the Boab Tree and Waltzing Matilda on the Australia soundtrack?
The beautiful voice featured in these songs was that of Ophelia of the Spirits (aka Angela Little). Angela was kind enough to contact me and offer to give away some signed copies of her new album through my Baz the Great website. Her new album is called The Secret Garden and will be released on 18 September 2009. I will be posting details of the giveaway on my website when I get home from work tonight, which will be around 6 hours from whatever time this post says... There's only 5 copies to giveaway, so I thought I'd give you guys a heads up!

I also received a lovely confirmation e-mail that I had 'won'. I'm thrilled because I adore her music and think she would be fantastic to see live, alas I dont know that she often, if at all travels to South Australia. Glad that her CD will be travelling here at least
